Taar Sitara in Perth Australia

TAAR SITARA , 18th June 2007, Annalakshmi on the Swan, Perth.

Played Raag Bageshri as the main piece, followed by other dhuns and short renditions, including Shivaranjini in Deepchandi, with Swamiji's Madhura Manohara as an alaap.

We also launched our CD on this day, entitled Taar Sitara too. This was recorded in Vicky's house, using equipment borrowed from Hari Hemachandran.

The concert was attended by about 100 people, and we sold perhaps 30 cpoies of the CD on the same night. Pretty exciting stuff!!

Photos of Florence, July 2007

Claudio Javarone - a fantastic flamenco artist. It was a great privilege to work with him.Rehearsing in the hot sun at the open air at the Theatro Limonaia, Villa Strozzi, Via Pisana, in Firenze.

The Show itself...was great. About 800 people packed into this beautiful open air space on top of a hill, an the atmosphere was ....scintillatingly Italian!!

Rehearsals in a dance studio in Poggibonsi, which is about 45 mins away from Florence,
Marco Perona on the Guitar and El Nino on the Cajon were great fun to work with. Language barriers aside, we bacame great chums!! Marco learns an Indian phrase, 'by ear'!

It is easier to stamp your foot to the rhythm and understand. Wish we Indian musicians could do the same!!

Vicky and I played a classical concert at this Ayurveda Centre in Firenze.

On the train station at Poggibonsi.
